beautiful countryside within New Zealand. With our proximity to Te Anau (1 hour), Invercargill (1 hr) and Queenstown
(1 hr 15 minutes) we are ideal for those who want a central base for trips into these other appealing parts of
Southland.
Nearby we have the famous brown trout fishing rivers of the Mataura and Oreti, golf courses, enjoyable shopping,
cafes, easy to challenging walking tracks, bowling greens, tennis and squash courts. Within easy travelling distance
there are the opportunities to view vintage aircraft and vehicles, while the challenges, thrills and delights of
Queenstown and Milford are superb alternatives.
We are situated south of the township of Lumsden just off State Highway 6 = the main road connecting Invercargill with
Queenstown.

What to wear:
Fashion in the south is both contemporary and comfortable. The key to successful dressing in any season is layering -
being ready for warm sunshine or a cool breeze. And it's always handy to have a raincoat nearby! If you're intending
on tramping then appropriate equipment is required, but can often be hired in the area.
